Kvm Switch: Reduce Investment In Peripherals By Controlling Multiple Computers With Single Kvm
Multiple computers may be controlled with a single set of peripheral devices. This is possible using a KVM Switch. Saving space and ensuring better management of cables, these switches are a boon in places where there is a shortage of space. Supporting multiple platforms like SUN, IBM, HP, Dell, Windows Vista/2003/XP/2000, UNIX and MAC, these switches allow the network personnel to access, control & manage the company’s servers even when the corporate network is non-functional. A Switch which secures connections via category cables is known as a CAT5 KVM Switch. It allows access to servers up to 40 meters. Typically, you can connect from 2 to 32 computers, but by daisy chaining these switches access can be increased up to 256 Servers. Providing VGA video resolution up to 1600 x 1200, the KVM over Cat5 switch is available in 16 or 32 port configurations in 1U of rack mount space. Main features of this device are: multi lingual on screen display menu (OSD), advanced user profiles and configurable OSD hot key combinations, dual power with fail over, 12, 24 and 48 volt DC power options. In situations where multiple computers are involved, a KVM Switch may be used since it frees valuable physical space and decrease demand on power.
